About Janet Echelman:
Janet Echelman has a truly inspiring story of being denied from around seven art schools; with this in her past she decides to preserver and create large installations that scale buildings and city blocks. She made sure that the materials that she uses for her pieces withstand whatever mother nature decides to throw that them. The material is noted to be a fiber that is fifteen stronger than steel, but has significant movement in the wind.
I was inspired by her work and her passion, ended up studying her TED talk and her website intensely. Creating a piece that honors her work and represent who she is.
The Pieces that I created INCORPORATE a LINOLEUM stamp (featured on a zip up bag and t-shirt) along with a folding “poster” (which takes you through the ted talk and showcases some of Janet Echelmans pieces, all encased in a folder).
